Equipment

  • Small bowl For whisking matcha
  • Matcha whisk or small whisk For a smooth, frothy matcha base
  • Blender For the strawberry sweet cream
  • 16 oz glass For serving

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp ceremonial-grade matcha powder
  • 2 oz hot water
  • 1 tsp liquid sweetener, such as agave, honey, or simple syrup
  • 5 oz milk of choice, preferably oat milk
  • ice
  • 2-3 medium strawberries, fresh or thawed frozen
  • 2 oz heavy cream
  • 1 oz milk
  • 1 tsp sweetener

Instructions

  • Sift the matcha powder into a small bowl. Add hot water and whisk until smooth and lightly frothy. Stir in the sweetener while warm.
  • Fill a 16 oz glass about three-quarters full with ice. Pour in the milk and prepared matcha, then stir gently.
  • Blend strawberries, heavy cream, milk, and sweetener for 5 to 10 seconds until smooth and pourable, similar to melted ice cream.
  • Pour the strawberry cream over the matcha latte. Serve layered, or gently stir to create a pink and green swirl.

Notes

Use ceremonial-grade matcha for the smoothest flavor and brightest green color. Oat milk creates a creamy texture, but any milk works. Blend the strawberry cream briefly so it stays pourable.
